Class 5 experiments with depth-perception and distance
This afternoon we decided to have a game of diamond bowling - but this time with a twist!
We outlined a goal area with a green love heart shape, then we set the 'knee line' a little way from the goal.
The challenge this afternoon was that we had to judge how strongly we needed to push the diamond to make it slide into the goal. If we don't push hard enough the diamond doesn't reach the goal, but if we push too hard it bounces off the mirror and comes right back to us! We each took four or five turns, and we found that the more turns we took the better we got at judging the distance and adjusting our pushes.
We love diamond bowling!
