Class 1 celebrates earth day

We celebrated earth day today! To show appreciation for our earth, we did three things. First, we sat in a circle and talked about earth. A friend shared that earth is a planet and we also learned that it is the planet that we live on. We also talked about some places on earth such as Canada and America. Second, we had two visual presentations of what earth looks like. The first visual presentation is the globe. We were amazed at how our earth looks like a ball. We all had a turn to touch it and point to a place we like. We learned that the blue part of the globe is water and the other colours are land. Our second visual presentation was a picture and we pointed the oceans and continents. After pointing it out, we coloured our earth with green and blue crayons. Finally, we ended our earth day celebration by watering our growing hyacinth plant. While everyone is having a turn watering the plant, we talked about how plants help earth to be a beautiful place to live in. We also learned that plants give us oxygen that we need to breathe in! Happy earth day!!! Elect 1.1 social interest, 2.3 empathy, 4.3 cause and effect exploration, 4.4 spatial exploration, 5.2 fine motor
