Class 2 have been diligently working towards their alphabet recognition. As a group, they practise alphabet songs that include letter identification and phonic awareness. During literacy periods, Class 2 work on writing the directionality of individual letters; and here, they are using sand paper letters as a visual and tactile learning aide. Typically, Ms. Krysten asks the students to identify individual letters, once correctly identified, students then trace the letter with their fingers to establish a sensory connection to the letters as well.
