For one of our projects this month we did a whole school experiment! We made slimy goop! This involved making two different solutions. One solution of white glue and water, and one solution of borax (laundry detergent) in water. Before we combined the solutions, we all sat down to have a think and make some predictions about what we thought might happen when the two solutions get mixed together. We had a lot of different hypotheses! Once we were all done hypothesising it was time to test our theories. So we all sat in a big circle and took turns using our hands to mix the two solutions. It was a very strange sensation! The borax instantly starts to ploymerise when it hits the glue and water mix, and we could feel this happening as 'chunks.' But the more we mixed, the smoother it got! We can't wait to bring our science goop home to share the sensory experience with our families! Will you be brave enough to have a touch? Enjoy! :)
