Today our little scientists were very taken with the marbles at the bottom of some of the Squidly bottles, and asked for some more marbles to explore with. So we all grabbed a marble and began to build tracks, tunnels and towers to see what the marbles would do. Some friends explored in teams while some chose to experiment independently, and everyone was very excited to share their findings with their friends! We even discovered that our classroom floor has a tiny bit of a slope- hold on to those marbles, or they'll roll under the door! Taking the opportunity to indulge our curiosity helps us develop inquiry skills as well as a sense of confidence in our ideas and thoughts as things that have worth. We practice communicating ideas and describing results, we learn about taking turns and offering suggestions, and we build each other up with positive feedback and encouragement. Where will our curiosity take us next?
