Class 1 & 2 - Sensory Painting

Today in art class we created some scented paint! Class 1 and Class 2 used cinnamon and vanilla extract to spice up our painting experience! We had a discussion about how we smell things and made some guesses about what was in the paint.  The cinnamon also added a neat texture to the paint that was transferred onto the paper as we painted!  Friends in both classes were very fascinated by the smells and had fun hypothesizing about what could be in the paint.  We used our inquiry skills to ask questions like, "Can we eat this paint?" and "What does vanilla look like?"  We were also able to practice our language skills through the pronunciation of the word "cinnamon." We will see what other things we can mix with paint as the summer continues!
