Class 5- New Years Resolutions

Class 5 has been learning about New Years, and New Year Resolutions today. Each child decided to make their very own for the coming year 2017. They decided to read and write, some decided to listen more to their mommies and others decided to be good to their brothers and sisters. It was a fun time sharing thoughts and expressing and learning more about self awareness. We also added a special touch by drawing some fireworks next to our writing. Great Work Team!

Class 3- Number Snow Man

Class 3 is excited with all the snow around us outside. We decided to collaborate numeracy with some snowy fun. We did a worksheet where we made a number 8 snowman, counted the snow flakes falling around the snowman as well as the buttons on the snowman's body. We also made him colourful by colouring our snowman and the snow flakes, then added a personal touch by drawing a scarf, hat, eyes and nose. It was a fun way to reinforce our numeracy skills with some snowy fun. Well done, Class 3!

Class 5- It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Class 5 loves holidays and so today, we talked about how this season is considered the most wonderful time of the year. Aside from the beautiful snow, we learned that it is the gift of giving this season. We will soon see beautiful holiday wrapped presents, lights and decorations all around us in schools, homes and all over the city. We combined our art and literacy as we stamped the usual holidays sightings that we see. We picked 2 stamps for each friend. The stamps were moose, candy cane. snowman, and winter tree. We picked beautiful holiday colours for stamps and wrote the words when they were dry. We added additional holiday stickers to make our work look more festive. Great work, Class 5!

Class 3- Puppet Show

It was time for some dramatic play with puppets for Class 3. They selected their own puppets and enacted their own little stories in the puppet theatre. Every child got a turn where they had to speak for their character and share their thoughts with friends. The children enjoyed the activity of dramatic expression as always. The creativity that they showed was amazing! They also did a great job acting as the audience and waiting for their turn. Well done, my friends!!

Ginger Bread House

This time of year can be full of lots of creativity and fun! So the children at LFLF came up with the idea to create a gingerbread house, as a whole school! With wonderful and bright candies, happy gingerbread men, and snow all over the rooftop, the little friends all took part in this wonderful holiday experience. You can find our bright and exciting gingerbread house on display in the front foyer! It looks so delicious but don't eat it! You can look but don't touch. Sometimes we have to remind our parents as they can be too eager than the children sometimes. Well done, children!

Class 2- Holiday Lights

As we all know, our winter Holiday is just around the corner so today Class 2 used vibrant colours to create a beautiful scenery of Holiday lights! We chose our favourite colours to design our lights. Some of the colours we used were: red, orange, yellow, and purple. To create our lights, we dipped our paint brushes in paint and gently dabbed the tip of our brushes along the white line on our black construction paper. We chose to use black construction paper to make it seem like the lights are all lit up at night! Great work, Class 2!
