Class 2- Discovering and Learning about Winter Animals

This week our friends of Class 2 were able to learn and make new discoveries about winter animals. We started off by engaging in a special circle, which allowed us to learn about the winter season. Along with what we see and feel while being outside. After that began the discussion of the animals we see in winter. A fun, yet great way to learn about the winter season is through reading and exploring books, so we added some of the new books around the school as visual aids of the animals and weather we talked about. We had a wonderful time working together to identify the different winter animals, we named them and shared what they might do during this cold season. Some of the animals we discovered included; Snow Bunnies, Polar Bears, Penguins, Wolves and many more! Great team work Class 2!

Class 3- New Year Dance Celebration

We kicked off the first week back to school by celebrating the new year with our dancing skills!
All of the friends from Class 3 decided it was best to show off their dancing skills to each other, along with some silly new moves, to help ring in the New Year with some fun. Following rhythms and beats of the music that was playing through the stereo, it was a hit with all of the friends. We finished off by playing freeze dance and showed off some fun new poses. We can't wait to see what this year has in store for us!

Class 1- Happy First Day Back

Happy new year!! Bonne année!! 2017!

Welcome 2017, this year was kicked off by making new and old connections with friends, sharing about all the exciting things we did during our winter break. During our creative art time we made fireworks using bingo stamps, while talking about the new year and making sure to make it super colourful! During our focused play, we used our lego blocks to build a jungle where all of the children showed team work skills. During our morning circle we sang songs about welcoming friends and the new year. What a great start to our new year!

Class 5- Revisiting our Phonics

With lots of smiles, our friends from class 5 were happy to be back at school. After a warm welcome, to all of the teachers and other children, we were very happy to sit down and re practice our alphabet, just to see what we remember from last year. We also took part in practicing our writing skills and revisiting our phonics. It was nice to see how much our friends remembered, along with new things they picked up during the break  We are looking forward to a lot of fun and new learning experiences together this year.

Class 2- Winter Toques!

This week our friends made some cozy winter toques to keep us warm for this cold season ahead! This was a fun way to get our friends expressing themselves as they shared what their favourite colours were, and what they wanted they're toques to look like! We started by painting the paper plates our favourite colours that we mentioned and then glued on yarn as a cozy touch to our hats! We also added designs with colourful jewels, and finished them off with a Pom Pom on top ! Lets try and stay warm this winter Class 2!

Welcome Back, Happy New Year!

Welcome back everyone new and old friends! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and a very Happy New Year! All of the friends from LFLF created a special project today, using paper towel rolls. They were able to dip the cut paper towel roll into bright coloured paints while twisting and turning them onto paper to create Fire Works. Each child loved the bright colours and were so excited to partake in this New Year special celebration.
