Class 2- Musical Class

Our friends from Class 2 showed off their musical listening ears and moved to a musical listening game where they anticipated the musical surprise pauses by listening carefully to the music. Everyone helped each other so well by being super focused on hearing the music while staying quiet so that everyone was able to use their listening ears and feeling the movement of the musical segments! Our friends in Class 2 also learned a fun little song to remember their finger numbers. Also, the children learned to tell apart soft and loud sounds, which prepares them for learning about the dynamics of music and listened to a little music to sharpen their musical detective skills. Great listening today, little friends!

Class 5- Clowning around in French

To start off our week, during our morning circle we learned about our special word of the day in French: Clowns!

Some of the things we learned about them are that clowns are comic performers that dedicate their work in bringing joy and laughter to everyone! We learned there are many names for the word 'clown' in French; for example; clown and bouffon!

Together with the help of our French teacher, we drew the face of a clown by drawing a round face, two eyes, a big round red nose, a big giant smile, big orange hair and a small hat! When we finished we decided to name it Monsieur Clown!

Another fun French circle time for Class 5; we can't wait for our next activity!

Class 1- Circus Reading

This week Class 1 enjoyed reading all about the circus! They were able to share their stories with each other while they explored different circus animals, and some of their special circus stories even had sound that made the animals come alive when you click the button! What fun Class 1 had while learning and reading about the circus this week!

Class 4- Circus Tents

Class 4 had a fun time starting a 3-D Visual Art activity relating to our August theme of Carnival and Circus this week. We are learning lots of fun facts about the Circus and our little buddies decided to make a 3-D Circus tent with cups. We filled them in with our choice of colours, then decorated them with construction paper and lots of fancy jewels, and lastly, we also attached a little flag on top. It was a fun multi-step process to produce our cool creations. Our little artists were so happy with their finished 3-D projects. Great job, everyone!

Dance Party Friday !

Dance party Friday has made a triumphant return this week! The friends at LFLF enjoyed moving and grooving with their teachers and Ms. Tary, doing salsa and jazz all in one! Of course some cool freestyle was welcomed into this week's Dance Party Friday! Don't forget to practice those funky and unique moves to share with everyone for next time. Class 1- Circus Blocks

This week in Class 1 our little LFLF friends spent their time exploring the blocks during one of their free play time. The friends of Class 1 did a great job sitting on the carpet or on the pink chairs and played together with the many different color of blocks that we have. Our friends were so excited to share their blocks with their teacher and each other, each taking turns telling stories about their blocks including the colour of the block they were holding, such as,red, pink, blue, yellow and so on. Afterwards, some of our little friends even used the blocks to build a farm area for their animals. Great job, my little friends!
