Class 2- Cotton candy cups!

Today Class 2 took on a really fun 3-D art project! We made our very own sugar sweet, yummy cotton candy! We started our 3-D art by painting cups with lots of funky colours and then dazzled them up with glitter! Once our cups were ready, we glued in our cotton candy using cotton balls. We broke apart cotton balls with our fingers and then glued them into our cups. To finalize our project, we painted our cotton candy with some of our favourite colours! Some of the colours we chose were pink, blue, purple, orange and red! We are looking forward to sharing our sugary art with you on display around the school. Try not to get tempted and eat all that tasty goodness!

Class 2, 3, 4 Clowning around with French

This week during our French circle, we were learning all about clowns in French!

To practice our numeracy in French, we all took turns counting from 1 to 5 with the help of clown pictures! We all gave ourselves a big pat on our backs because we did such a great job!

We also talked about how clowns were funny and fun- loving performers that dedicate their work on bringing joy and laughter to all! We have lots of little friends who like to pretend that they are clowns sometimes and bring lots of laughter to all their little classmates' faces too!

Class 4- Making Friends

We had a great time on our first day of camp in August! We welcomed some new friends joining us this month and everyone had fun making crazy clown faces in their art class! Today each student chose which colours they thought would be best for their clown faces, coloured them, and then practiced our fine motor skills by cutting them out. Cutting can be very hard if we are not focused and careful with what we are doing. We may have lost a few pompoms while cutting, but we decided they would be silly clowns anyways!

Class 5- Class Clowns

This week we kicked off the start of our Circus themed month by making clown puppets for our very own entertainment. We started off by colouring our puppets in our favourite colours and then with the supervision of our teacher, we carefully cut out the clown pieces to later put them all together to create our very own personalized clown. While we created our clowns, we also learned that clowns are extremely special people that dedicate themselves on giving lots of laughter and joy to those around them. They sound like awesome people!

Class 3- Math Fun

Class 3 had an awesome Math lesson together. They practiced counting their numbers up to 20 and even explored number values. The children also randomly chose flash card numbers showing various items and did a wonderful job showing one-to-one correspondence when they matched it to the right flash card. Our little mathematicians showed off their skills practicing and exploring their numbers for their upcoming school year in September.

Class 2- Our Silly little Clowns

It's Circus month and we welcome August with the creation of our very own silly little clowns! Class 2 got extra creative as we used bingo dabbers and tissue paper to make silly little clowns. We started this fun art activity by gluing cotton balls onto the top of a paper plate to represent our clowns' funny lock of hair. We then added a pop of colour by bingo dabbing our cotton balls. Once our clowns had funky hair, we then began creating our clowns' own funny facial features using tissue paper and glue to sculpt. Once our clowns had a face, we began designing funky little hats using different coloured strips of construction paper and gluing them onto our hats! As a final touch, Class 2 drizzled some glitter onto their silly clowns to personalize it in our own LFLF way! We hope you enjoy them on display!
