Class 3 - French Recall

Since it will be a few weeks left before the end of the school year, Class 3 recalled most of what they learned during French. We recalled our greetings, cheery songs and number songs. After that, we also practiced the songs that we will be singing for the concert. We are so excited to sing our songs and move our bodies as well. It was a special day too as we had a new friend to join us just for the French class.

Class 4 - Scissor Skills

This week Class 4 practiced their scissor skills. It is helpful to sit down with some scrap paper and practise the directionality of cutting out different shapes because it helps us learn about the correct hand and finger grasps. It also helps to refine our fine motor skills and learn about various concepts like big small, few, many, size & shapes.

Class 5 - Summer Attire

Class 5 worked on a collage of their favourite summer wear! We began by drawing a special picture of ourselves standing in a summery background. We then shared our favourite summer wear with one another and drew pictures of it on construction paper. Once our drawings were ready, we then began cutting them out and prepared them for our collages. This was a fun art activity as we were able to enhance our fine motor skills, while learning about appropriate summer clothing.

Class 5 - Day and Night

Class 5 engaged in a fun art activity where we design our very own
night and day collage. We started by painting our circled background
black to represent night and blue to represent day. Once both sides
were painted and dry, we then discussed ideas of what we wanted
displayed on each side. Once our ideas were written on paper we began
to cut them out and design them with vibrant colours. This art
activity was a fun way for us to get in touch with the earth and the
universe that surrounds us!

This week Class 1 incorporated some abstract collaging into our space theme.  We used green squares to layer textures of what we brainstormed an alien might look like.  This art activity allowed for us to work on our fine motor skills as well as our creativity.  Can't wait to show you the final product!
