Class 1 - Solar System

During morning circle Ms. Meghan's class talked about the solar system. We are just starting to understand that we're in it, on the planet earth! We already knew that the moon comes out at night and that the sun is very very hot. We are beginning to learn about the different planets, so during art class we started a group project on them. We each used our own colour and matched it to a planet. Some included red for mars, blue and green for earth, and orange for Venus.  This activity allowed us to practice fine motor skills, colour recognition and increase our positive attitudes towards learning. 

Class 1 - Early Morning Tea Party

Early in the morning before all of our friends arrive sometimes we like to have a picnic breakfast and tea! We set the picnic blanket ourselves and cooperate by pouring tea for one another. As friends start to show up at school they join our party! We also like to practice making friends by inviting other class members to join!

Class 3- playground planets

Today we used our sidewalk chalk to decorate our playground with a big diagram of our solar system!  With the help of our little resident pro on all things planetary we remembered the right order to draw the planets in and labelled them to help our other friends explore the solar system too :)

Class 5 special surprise art

Class 3- painting shiny suns

It's been a rainy few days here at school so today we used our art time to some of our very own bright shiny suns. We talked about which colours to use and experimented with different sponging techniques to create individually beautiful artworks :) These will do a great job of brightening up our school, whatever the weather!

Happy 4th Birthday to our gorgeous girls!

This week we celebrated two birthdays! We shared treats for snack, had show and tell about special presents and sang happy birthday as well as some of our other favourite songs, including 'let it go' of course! We feel so lucky to get to share such special days with our friends :)  Happy Birthday, superstars!
