Class 4 - Body Letters

This week we had fun exploring the alphabet with our bodies. We each took turns making a letter, while the other children had to guess which letter it was. Afterwards, Ms Chrisa helped us make more difficult letters with a partner. The children improved their coordination skills, social skills and practiced their letter recognition.

Ms Lauren's Class Piano Time!

This week we took turns using our big floor piano! We intertwined our fun music lesson with math by taking turns to identify the different numbers on the keyboard and by creating patterns that turned into beautiful music! Everyone had a wonderful time :)

Class 1 - Shape time!

The children have been exploring different shapes and learning how to recognise and name them. They have been exploring the different attributes of shapes through hands on manipulation with sand and toys, tracing using different shape manipulatives and creating a group art pieces. As they have been exploring the different shapes we focus on how many sides the shape has, how many corners it has and whether it has straight or round sides.  All of these different examples of shape exploration is made more fun by learning through play!

Class 1

Our class has been learning about shapes since last week and will continue to do so for the remainder of the month. The children learned about shapes in different creative ways. The class danced with cylinders, made patterns using shape cards, sorted shapes by colour and size, traced shapes, sung about different shapes,played with 3-D shapes in the sensory bin, went on a shapes treasure hunt and made a shapes mural that took three days to complete!

Class 2 & 4 - Stepping Piano Fun

We had a fun week back from holidays! One of our favourite activities is the stepping piano! We all took turns playing for our friends. Afterwards we had to jump to a specific number, which enhanced our number recognition skills as well as our gross motor skills. 

Happy Birthday!

This week we celebrated one of our new friends birthday! We played some fun games, had a dance party and sang Happy Birthday! Thank you for the cupcakes and Happy Birthday!
