Happy 3rd Birthday!

This week we celebrated a friends 3rd birthday! We played some of our favourite games, danced, and made a Birthday card for our special friend. Happy Birthday, and thank you for the yummy treats!

Today we had a great time experimenting with our new 'living sand', we love it! Each friend explored the new sensory experience with enthusiasm, squishing and squeezing and building dexterity and hand strength. We used the moulds to create all kinds of cakes and houses, and 'mysteries'. A very creative session, we can't wait to use it again!

Class 3 - French

This morning in French class, Ms Tary taught us about shapes. We learned their names and looked at how many sides they have. We each chose our favourite shape and also practiced using french to describe the colour. Tres bien!

Guided Reading!

This week Ms Lauren's Class started their Guided Reading. Everyone followed along with the text as Ms Lauren read and we all took turns sounding out different words. We found our sight words we have been learning and used the picture cues to help us when we got stuck. After we read our shared text everyone chose their own book and read aloud to the class. Everyone is practicing their reading!

Ms Lauren's Class writing time!

Today we began our unit on Fairy tales by doing a class activity that incorporated modeled writing and independent writing. The children chose a Disney Princess as a stimulus then wrote some sentences describing their princess and what they love about her. Everyone did an amazing job!

Ms Lauren's Class has been discussing what New Year's eve is about and what happens when we start a new year. The children had many great stories to share about how they celebrated; some went to the moon and to Coast Rica! Here are our fireworks that we made in visual art using crayons, paint and our fingers :)
