Baking A Cake!

Today the whole school baked a special cake together! We read the ingredients for the cake and made sure we had everything we needed before we began. Each of the children got a chance to put the cake mix into the bowl, add a little bit of water, and stir the cake up with a big wooden spoon. We all watched the mixture go from chunky to smooth and we predicted what the texture would be like after it is baked. We can’t wait for this afternoon to taste the delicious creation! 

Jnr PreK!

Outdoor Fun 


This week our Pre K's had a lot of fun during outside play! The children were engaged and playing different games with each other. We put our chairs in a line and pretended to be riding in a train while singing the Good Morning Train. We all raced from one end of our playground to the other pretending to be different animals such as lions and birds. We also sat in a circle and took turns rolling the ball to one another. While the children were playing they were practicing their social skills and learning how to share and take turns. We always enjoy our outdoor time!

Yoga  
This week the Junior Pre K's had their first yoga class! We started off by lying down, with our eyes closed and listened to some soothing yoga music. Then we did some stretching and pretended to reach and touch the sky, and our toes. Our favourite yoga position that we practiced was the butterfly pose. We also practiced breathing slowly and the children enhanced their listening skills as they followed directions. Everyone had a very fun and relaxing class!

JK / SK Language

Letter Recognition and Phonic Development: We started to learn how to write our names this week. Each child made a name card and practiced tracing their name with their finger. As we traced our letters we talked about what the letter was called and what sound the letter made. We then did a special page where we tried our best to write our name and draw a picture of ourselves. Everyone did a great job!

Happy Birthday Sadra!

Today we wished our friend Sadra a Happy Birthday! We helped him celebrate in style by playing a special cars dance game in the morning then having some yummy birthday cupcakes in the afternoon. We sang Happy Birthday and ate Sadra's cupcakes - they were delicious! Happy Birthday Sadra!

Pre K Class

This week was our first week at Pre School. We learnt about the rules of the School and explored all of the new toys. We even did a special music circle with our Teacher, Ms Chrisa. Ms Chrisa taught us some new songs such as the Good Morning Train, Ram Sam Sam, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and even Old McDonald. Once we finished learning the words we added instruments and played along in our Little Feet Little Faces Band :)

First week of School!

This week has been our first week of School. We have had lots of new friends join us and have been spending the last few days getting to know everyone. We have played games to learn all of our names, listened to some great stories and even had our first dance class! We practiced our loco motor movements such as running, marching and skipping and had some free dance time to groove on our own! We can't wait to keep having fun :)
