Our Pre-K's did an awesome job learning the French names of some of our favourite foods and even utensils. They were so interested in what they were learning that their tummies started to rumble from the enticing pictures on the flash cards. Examples to practice at home are:
salad = salade
potato = la pomme de terre
cookies = biscuits
milk = lait
carrot = carrotte
fork = fourchette
In preparation for the Fall season that we are entering into, Class 5 learned about words related to fall clothing. These are great words to reinforce at home when we are getting ready in the morning for school, or leaving for the grocery store with mommy and daddy or preparing for playdates. Here are some that would be great reminders for Class 5:
jacket - manteau
scarf - foulard
sandals- sandales
dress- robe
pants- pantalon
watch- montre
One friend in Class 5 even said he will miss summer so he picked out swimming trunks = maillot de bain. Guess he's not ready to let good of the warm weather (some of us would agree).
Good job, our LFLF friends!
