Special Guest Star- Dance Teacher
This week we had a very special guest star join us for a few days as a treat for the children, Jessie Cox, filling in as our Dance Teacher for Ms Deanne who is away on holidays for a few weeks. Jessie is originally from a suburb of Vancouver and growing up, she trained in musical theatre before coming to Toronto when she was 18 so she could attend Sheridan College where she earned an advanced diploma in Musical theatre. She has also danced her whole life, attending Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre, Lyrical & Hip Hop classes but finding that Musical Theatre was her favourite as it allowed her to be a singer, actor and dancer all in one. She has been performing professionally the last 3 years, having a role in "Anne of Green Gables" at the Charlottetown Festival where she played Diana Barry and also performed at the Young Peoples Theatre in "Annie" as one of the orphans. Currently she is substituting where she can as she is always moving around due to where Musical Theatre will take her, taking into consideration being fair to any employer in case she finds a role that will take her away from any permanent position. We are so very lucky to have had her join us, even for such a short period of time, and the children just adored being entertained by Jessie. Thanks Jessie for all your dance wisdom and guidance, and we hope to see you soon again in the future!
