Class 5 began their Chinese New Year festivities through the medium of painting. This week we learned that it is the year of the monkey. To celebrate the Chinese New Year tradition we decided to make our very own monkeys. We started by gathering our supplies on the art table. For this art project we needed: paper plates, paint and paint brushes of
course. Once all our supplies were prepared, we engaged in a conversation about the physical characteristics of a monkey. We all agreed that some monkeys are brown, so that's where we began painting our paper plates! Once our paper plates had dried, Class 5 then focused on the facial features of a monkey. We painted on eyes, a noise and a mouth. Overall, this was a great art experience, as it allowed for Class 5 to learn about the Chinese New Year and the year of the monkey". We can't wait for you to see them on display in the school!
