Dinosaur Dance Party!

You like dinosaurs?
Do you like dance parties?
... What about a dinosaur dance party?
At LFLF we do it all, check out our bunch dancing, hiding and seeking, and attempting to crack open an (actual?!) dinosaur egg!
Our imaginations blossom every day we're together, the fun never ends when you build memories like ours.

Class 5 - Sensory Shave

Today we discussed about dinosaurs and their habitats and wondered what it would feel like to be a dinosaur walking through a watery marsh. We used shaving cream and coloured sand to make the setting. The children described how they felt wandering through the misty forest. Describing the texture whether its smooth or rough and if they thought dinosaurs would enjoy this niche that we created.

Elect: 1.8, 2.1, 3.4, 4.1

Class 2 - Making Music

Today, class 2 decided they would use some musical instruments to practise their songs for their summer concert.
We used precision instruments, bells and musical shakers to sing along to the rhythm of the music.  Some of our friends even noticed that some of the shakers sounded like heavy rain drops, very clever observations, friends :)

Elect: 2.3, 2.4, 3.1, 3.4

Class 2 - Painting with Marbles

Class 2 took a break from dinosaurs, and had fun with a child directed activity. Ms. Tary observed the children playing with marbles for a game called, 'Marble Run' during their free play period; so she took the opportunity to bring the marbles up to the art room.
The kids were so excited to see Ms. Tary bring the marbles into their art class, and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to watch the marbles mix with other colours during this hands on activity.

Elect: 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.6

Class 1 - Observing and Caring for Plants

Class 1 started the week with a wonderful job. We started observing and caring for our plants. Last week, we planted some seeds on a cup, put soil and watered them; this week we were amazed at how our plants grew. We have observed that some plants are growing stems and leaves. Some are as tall as pointer finger, while others are as tall as our thumbs. As soon as we realized that our plants are growing we immediately thought of giving them food. We learned that water and sunlight serve as food for plants, so we all took a turn watering our own plants then we all saw how our teacher helped us put the plants on the window side to get sunlight. We can't wait to observe how our plants grow and learn more about them.

Class 1 - Our Pet Dinosaurs

Class one had a very imaginative morning today. We made our own pet dinosaurs. Our per dinosaurs are made of our handprint, paint and jewel stickers. First, we painted our hand according to our favourite colour. Some friends chose blue, some chose red and some chose green as the skin colour of their dinosaurs. Next, we added some googly eyes and drew some legs. Finally, we worked on our fine motor skills as we carefully put on some jewel stickers as their necklaces and to make our artwork prettier.
