Class 3 loves learning about math with games. We played two games so far this week. In the first game one of our friends was the leader and organised his friend's into groups representing different numbers. He got two friends to stand on our special mat to represent the number two. Then he added one more friend to represent the number 3. It was fun to guess what number we would make when a new friend joined the mat.
After we were done counting friends we used some special blocks to play a matching game.
Everyone sat in a circle and held a block. Then Ms. Heather put a block in the middle and everyone had to check their own blocks to see if it matched. They could match in two different ways. They could be the same colour or the same shape! We had fun helping each other find the matching blocks and learning different ways to categorise objects.
