Librale: The Horse Named Freedom takes place a long time ago in a very special place called Sao Miguel. It tells the story of a young girl named Mary, who travels from Canada with her Mother to visit the place where she grew up.
Within days of her arrival, Mary creates a very special bond with an extraordinary horse she named Librale. Through this bond, Mary performs acts of love and compassion, even when faced with obstacles and challenges brought on by the adults in her life.
Written for children aged 9 and up, Librale sends a message of love and compassion to all its readers. Children know how to love and this book encourages them to keep doing so, even when it's not the easiest thing for them to do, even when their adult role models aren't being the best examples.
Written in a light-hearted tone, with a charming and cute narrative, children will not want to put this book down until they're done. And then they'll want to read it again and again.
Lucia Da Silva was born into a loving family. She spent several years of her childhood living in the beautiful and charming island of Sao Miguel, in the Azores off the coast of Portugal.
The contrast between the hustle and bustle of a big city like Toronto and the quaint and rural life of Sao Miguel let Lucia experience much in her younger years. This was the start of a very adventurous life and many very special stories to share.
For Lucia, it’s all about sharing. She believes we all have the ability to do great feats, and to live our deepest desires with purpose for ourselves while inspiring others.
She has dedicated 23 years of working in the Public Sector, developing, supporting and implementing programs primarily for families with children and senior citizens living with social and economical barriers.
Along with her love of writing and storytelling, she brings a refreshing new energy and power to the words she shares by having become a Reiki Master and teaching her clients of all ages how to use empowering words, sounds and breathing to heal themselves and others.
