End of Year Concert!

Our End of Year Concerts were a success!
Our Pre K friends did an amazing job performing their 2 dances and songs for their Parents. There was a lot of dancing and singing happening from both our students and their families. This was a great event to share with everyone!

Abigail's 3rd Birthday!

Today we celebrated Abigail's 3rd Birthday! We got to enjoy some yummy cookies that Abigail brought in, and we played some fun games! We also made her a birthday card for a surprise! Happy Birthday Abigail!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we had a very special day where all our Dad's Poppies, Grandmas, Moms and even some sisters came to School to help us celebrate Father's Day! We played with our Dads, painted and collaged, read stories, built block and marble towers and even sang our Dad's some songs. Thank you to all of our Dad's that helped us to celebrate. Happy Father's Day! :)

The JKs have been discussing the season of summer in our circle and the topic of beach safety and protection-the usage of sunscreen and the effects of the sun's ultraviolet rays. In art class they have constructed their castles with the usage of sand and have taken their ideas of beach fun to outdoor play by utilizing their Gross Motor and Representation skills by balancing on the boardwalk without falling into the ocean and reflecting on past experiences at the beach with family.

Construction!

This week the children have noticed all of the construction that the City of Toronto is doing to Avenue Road. We have been watching from inside the classroom everything that has been going on. The children have seen the bobcats moving the dirt, the big dump trucks taking the dirt away and even all of the workmen using their jack hammers and shovels to dig up the concrete. This has prompted many discussions about construction and building things. How exciting!

Pre K Role Playing

Today we decided to role-play one of our favourite books 'Smelly Socks' by Robert Munsch. The children took turns acting out a page of the book. The children practiced having conversations that occurred in the book, as well as acting out scenes, such as rowing a boat across the lake. During our class, we enhanced our language skills, social skills and our creative skills. We all had fun!

Happy Birthday!

One of our friend's birthdays was this past weekend so we celebrated it this week! We got to enjoy the yummy cupcakes that he brought in. Our class played fun dance games, and we played with our large iSpy puzzle. We also made a Birthday card! Happy 3rd Birthday!
