This morning in class 1, we started off the morning with some focused play activity while using the giant lego blocks! We used our imagination and fine motor skills to build tall towers and make them into castles! We made sure that we all shared the blocks and even worked together to make the giant tower! What a great way to start off the week!
Class 5 had a great numeracy time this morning. We practiced our numbers, including what comes before and after in the number order. We also practiced writing individual numbers using the magic guiding lines. We then worked on a worksheet where we wrote the missing numbers down. It was a good challenge for our little minds and we had fun solving it. Good job friends!

This Monday Class 2 engaged in a fun and interactive literacy activity. Over the past few weeks Class 2 has been practicing to identify their names using ABC's. Through repetition, Class 2 will develop stronger literacy skills as they will be able to identify these letters all on their own, very soon! Furthermore, by learning to recognize letters, we can soon learn to read words through sounding out and knowing our phonics. Great work Class 2! So proud to see my friends working together to problem solve!
Class 5 learnt and celebrated Chinese new year today. We danced, we sang, we painted Chinese art and then we decided to do a creative activity with the snowflake building blocks. The children explored their imagination and made different patterns related to Chinese new year that would represent a dragon, a snake , a rooster or a lantern and so on. It was lovely to see the creative form and the imaginative thinking by the children. Good job friends!

This week our LFLF Class 1 friends spend their time reading books during their literacy time. Our friends took out their favourite colour, yoga mat and put it on the floor, for some Independent reading time. The "Papa Pig" story seemed to be a favourite book among the friends, we took turns all shared this book with each others. What a great time for our friends to relax. Great job friends.

Class 1 and 2 made their very own Olympian reefs! We used a lot of green for our fun little project! We started by painting our paper plates green and waited for them to dry. Once they have dried we added different shades of green leaves on our reefs. Our reefs represent the strength and courage that Olympian athletes hold as they share their passion with the world! Now we are our own Olympians! Wonderful work friends!
Class 5 is learning about the Chinese festival and has decided to make some King Snakes out of paper bags. We first made the snake skin design on the paper bag using small paper cups and differnt colour paints. We then made the crown and glued it along the top with some googly eyes, a tongue made of ribbon and from that our snakes were ready to go. We then tried putting in our hands and hissing like a snake, while using our creation like a puppet. It was so much fun!

All of the friends enjoyed the creative celebration, and look forward to talking about it for days to come with their parents and friends.
