Presents from Santa!

Since Tuesday was our second last day before our Winter Break, we decided to put cookies and milk close to our tree to see if Santa would come early this year. We also wrote some letters to Santa asking for some new special toys. On Wednesday morning when the children came to school we saw that the milk was gone and there were only a few crumbs left on the plate! We also noticed many presents wrapped under the tree! We all took turns opening the gifts, and showing them to the class. Throughout the day, we also got to play with our new toys. We all had a great last day at school! We hope everyone has a wonderful Winter Break!

Decorating Cookies!

Today was Pajama Day at school and we all got to show off our favourite PJ's in circle time in the morning. We had a special pajama party with lots of fun games and delicious treats, and even got to decorate our very own cookies! First we looked at all of the options for decorating, and chose exactly what we wanted to have on our cookies. We saved them to show our parents what we created and can't wait to eat them!

Tie dye time!

For our November project we decided to experiment with some tie dye! For the whole month of November we learnt about colours and this project seemed to be a perfect way to finish off our unit of work. The children helped to mix the tie dye colours and we experimented with lots of different styles. Look at our great work!

Holiday Decorating

Today our classes started decorating the holiday tree. We each took turns picking something out of the decoration box and picked a perfect spot on the tree to hang it. This promoted verbal interaction and discussion as each child told their friends why they chose that decoration and what we liked about it. We also talked about how we decorate our own houses for the holidays and how excited we are to play outside in the snow during the holidays! The classes worked together taking turns to place the decorations on the branches of the tree. We created a wonderful team!

November Project

This month we have been learning about colours. For our November Project we mixed our very own paint colours and painted some very intricate plaques. The children used primary colours to mix secondary colours and then created tertiary colours. Our November Projects are on display in the vestibule this week.

Jr Pre K Obstacle Course

During outdoor play the Pre K's always enjoy hopping on our outdoor blocks, so we decided to make an obstacle course. We had to hop on all of the green blocks, turn twice when we got in the hula hoop, jump 3 times when we got to the yellow block and touch out toes when we got to the triangle. The children practiced their social skills as they waited patiently for their turn as well as their recall skills as they had to remember what to do on each block. We had a lot of fun!
