Class 5 - Winter Word Bank

Last week, we unofficially welcomed the winter season. We thought we could welcome it due to the changing weather and sometimes unpredictable snow in some areas around us. To welcome the winter season, we wrote down 8 words related to winter and drew a representation of it as well. We took 2 papers, divided them into 4 parts and wrote down different words. Some friends still needed a little help in tracing while some other friends have started writing independently. Some of the words that we wrote and discussed were ; mittens, beanie, hot chocolate, fire place, earmuffs, snowman, penguin and snowflake to name just a few. We talked about the things that we wrote down and why we thought of them when we thought of winter. We shared how some words are actually some of the clothing that helps us keep warm during the winter weather. We also shared how some words also help keep our body warm by cozying up near the fire place and sipping hot chocolate.
