Class 3 - Math Lesson

Class 3 enjoyed their math lesson with the use of colourful wooden blocks. We pretended the red blocks were apples, and yellow blocks were bananas. A child suggested we also add purple blocks and use them as grapes - great idea! Each student had the chance to figure out a word problem. If Ms Kateryna has 3 apples, and the student has 2 apples, how many do we have altogether? The students would group the blocks, and count them all together. This is an important initial strategy when we begin learning how to add. We finished off the lesson by using the blocks to represent quantity in a visual way.

Elect:

4.9 reasoning logically
4.12 counting
4.13 determining quantity
